Jaime is a mother to two children with autism and a writer. She possesses extensive knowledge in key areas related to the autism community, particularly in the IEP process, legal rights for individuals with disabilities, and navigating severe and complex behaviors. Through proactive self-education and collaboration with leading experts, she has developed a deep understanding of public-school systems, medically necessary therapies, and their critical role in educational planning.
Jaime’s personal experience spans from early intervention through transition to adulthood, making her a valuable resource for families navigating these systems.
Her assertiveness, commitment to learning, and ability to master complex information have made her an indispensable advocate for her sons' journeys and a trusted support within the broader community.
Through her Facebook page, Homebound and Healing, with 3.7k followers, she shares her family’s journey — including some of the toughest challenges.
She is also the author of Beyond Belief: How a Recovering Atheist Met God on a Bench, a book about humility and developing a relationship with a higher power in recovery, which, as of now, will be available after September.
