Jaime is a mother to two children with autism and a writer. She possesses extensive knowledge in key areas related to the autism community, particularly in the IEP process and navigating severe and complex behaviors. Through proactive self-education and collaboration with leading experts, she has developed a deep understanding of public-school systems, medically necessary therapies, and their critical role in educational planning.
Jaime’s personal experience spans from early intervention through transition to adulthood, making her a valuable resource for families navigating these systems.
Her assertiveness, commitment to learning, and ability to master complex information have made her an indispensable advocate for her sons' journeys and a trusted support within the broader community.
Through her Facebook page, Homebound and Healing, with 3.7k followers, she shares her family’s journey — including some of the toughest challenges.
She is also the author of Beyond Belief: How a Recovering Atheist Met God on a Bench, a book about humility and developing a relationship with a higher power in recovery, which, as of now, will be available after September.
